Sensitive teeth

Soothing sensitivity

Enjoying tasty treats, such as tea and coffee or ice cream, can be problematic if you have sensitive teeth. So if you find yourself saying ‘ouch!’ every time you indulge in hot or cold food and drink, we can identify the reason for your painful sensitivity and treat it.

If the outer layer of the tooth has worn away, sensitivity can occur. This erosion of the tooth enamel can have a number of causes including:

  • Regular consumption of very sugary or acidic food or drink
  • Vigorous brushing
  • Grinding of the teeth (bruxism)
  • Certain medical conditions
  • Eating disorders

If you would like advice or treatment to help strengthen your tooth enamel or address sensitivity, please give us a call.
